"Why is it that as youth we are always told that we are the leaders of tomorrow? We are always told that tomorrow this world will be ours and how we are the future. Why are we waiting for tomorrow when we have today, why is it that as youth we have to wait to create the change we want to see now. We are not the future, we are not the tomorrow, because we are the today."
AS YOUTH, WE ARE READY FOR THIS WORLD, EVEN THOUGH IT MAY NOT BE READY FOR US

FOCUS
Individual Passions & Diversity
Passion & Identity. As youth we all have our different passions and different identities. However, throughout our youth lives we lose these parts of ourselves. We forget what makes us unique, special, what gives us a drive. Which is why it's important to integrate our individual passions and diversity into our lives in some aspect, whether it be through a hobby, extracurricular, etc. Between going to classes, homework and assignments youth spend so much time on school work that they don’t give themselves enough time to pursue their individuality. Your individuality, that’s what makes you, the amazing, distinctive and remarkable person you are.

Equal Support and Opportunities
Mistakes. We all make them and we will continue making them until we learn from them. We all have certain things we regret from our past, struggles we've conquered, but we now have the opportunity to grow from those mistakes and take charge of our future. Regardless of previous actions I want our youth to be provided with equal support and opportunities to drive them forward. I know that with the right support each and every youth has the potential to do something bigger and better than they may have ever imagined. We spend too much time focusing on what has been done rather that what can now do and I want all youth to be given the support alongside opportunities to help them not only become the best versions of themselves but overall global citizens.

Prioritizing Youth Leadership
The leaders of today. As youth we always hear the phrase “youth are our tomorrow”, but we don't believe in that. we believe that “youth are our today”. we believe that as youth we have all the power and influence we need to start making a difference today. We all matter, today. And we should be provided with support to speak out with social issues, today. We are not the leaders of tomorrow, but today, right now. Right now, we all have the potential to show a united front and stand up as youth against issues like gender equality, racism and anything else we feel needs to be highlighted in our communities.

Prioritizing Wellbeing
Feeling worth. No one deserves to feel alone, abandoned or stressed. Mental illness is on a rise amongst youth and we, as youth, need to start progressively advocating for it. Our words and actions can mean a lot more than we expect them to mean sometimes and so it is important that we take the time to reflect on ourselves. Our youth years are a roller coaster of emotions but it is important that we don't lose some of our best youth along ride. Wellbeing is something we always lose track of in our busy lives but we need to make it a priority.

Being Heard.
These issues are only a handful of the challenges we face as youth. Getting our voice heard may start with combating these issues, but it doesn't end there. We need to advocate in our very own communities if we want to see change, we need to show that we have the power and influence we need to start creating change today. Our youth voice needs to be heard.
